Jason Christie Senior Consultant - Decommissioning Perth (Australia)
Jason joined Xodus in October 2021 having spent the last 8 years’ involved with decommissioning activities/planning for oil and gas facilities in the North West Shelf of Australia and the Bass Strait within a major operator. This work has provided great challenges and satisfaction as decom in Australia is currently undergoing significant regulatory change with increasing emphasis on a Company’s social license to operate.
Jason Christie is an Offshore/Projects Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the offshore oil and gas industry primarily related to subsea equipment/installation and operations. During this time he has been involved in the development and execution of numerous oil and gas projects in many of the operating regions of the world with various operators and contractors, including Australia, Thailand, West Africa and the North Sea.
His recent experience includes the following, Field Abandonment & environmental studies, Technical research into contaminants in the marine environment, Regulatory Field Closure activities and planning, Closure Risk Assessment, Comparative Assessment design and planning for EP’s.
His experience into contaminant assessment/analysis has focused primarily on NORM, Hg and plastics. He also has direct experience with handling and disposal of NORM and NORM contaminated equipment as well as investigations into the cleaning of Hg from subsea pipelines.
